Sadly foreign stations have to geoblock due to rights issues, I wish I could pay 30-40 usd to help compensate the
rights holders to my favorite stations.

I feel like I need to start an internet radio station to play the good stuff American radio NEVER plays often.

I found a lot of interesting American Radio stations especially related to Rock/Metal Music that I've played over the Internet while on VPN. I think you can do exactly the same in the opposite direction if you don't like what you have domestically.

A good friend of mine does that. He has several radio stations he has remade from the 80's and 90's. Even has their old Advertisements and everything. I If you look him up on QRZ.com with the name N0VZC you can email him. I'm sure he would love to share the addresses with you. If you can't find it let me know and I will check it out when I am not working.

I host a weekly radio show on shortwave. There are no such limitations on licensing. For bumper music, palate cleanser, I play music with no restrictions.

It was neat to see that for Jason Scott's documentaries (BBS, GOT LAMP,
DEFCON) he used all creative commons-released music. I knew it was out
there but didn't think of using it in film/radio.
