Apparently posting to fsxNet hasn't been working on hub1 from TQW, just sending a test to see if it gets out.

Hello world! First echomail test
to fsxNet!
Ahh nice to see an Ezycom BBS - that's what I was running back in the
day. I still have it running in a OS/2 VM (v1.1) - mainly to test my mailer clrghouz. I should update it and use it more day to day, but
I'm busy with other stuff.
You may be in luck then! My mission to begin with was to simply spin up the BBS package that defined my experience back in the day, but it became a kind of preservation project after I got in touch with Shawn Highfield, the last person standing on the Ezycom dev team. In a literal sense, in fact, since I've learned that Stephen Gibbs passed away a couple years ago.
So Shawn is working on getting access to their archives, and hopefully some time in the not-too-distant future, be able to share files and keys I can use to create a resource.

I think I have Mystic sorted, and restarting the daemon seems to have solved the CRASH issue too.

Likewise, though my janky setup is on Linux, haven't run Windows
since late 98.

I'm guessing my messages are either not getting out or are really slow :(Here's a potential solution to your problem. I saved this response to help explain why you want to get your own node number quickly. Thanks to Adept
Just posting a first test post.
Verifying from Mystic Guy vids
That /999 address is a way to get things going quickly. But the next person who watches those videos will _also_ use that address, and if they check before you do, their BBS will get those messages, not yours.
So you'll want to apply for your very own node number.
And I believe Avon still handles that, though you might end up on one of the other subnets, rather than the one he runs, as there are a couple of other people helping do the work of keeping FSXnet running.

No, you're not using the right node number....

Indeed, just waiting for my application to go through.
How long ago did you send your mail?
If you havent heard from Paul (avon) in a day or so, then head over to https://clrghouz.bbs.dege.au, set yourself up and let me know. I'll hook you up on Hub 3 in the meantime.
