I am remembering the Sharp Zaurus I used to own.

I miss the "palm top" form factor that was popular for
    a short time in the mid/late 1990s.

I appreciated the non-Windows operarting systems available.
Windows CE was kind of worthless, but the Zaurus system
seemed just right for the form factor.

I never had one, but always wanted either an HP 200LX or a Psion.

I never tried CE on a handheld, but I had an IBM Workpad Z50 for a
while. It looked like a 10" IBM thinkpad laptop and ran a version of
Windows CE. Weighed 2 1/2 pounds. Instant on, and it synchronized with
your desktop PC via a cable. I used it for a while when I commuted by
ferry into San Francisco. Great way to commute, BTW - going home with
the sun setting behind the skyline, sitting with a beer on the upper
    deck...

Since it was instant on, I could sit down and start my day early -
it had basic versions out Outlook, Word and Excel built-in. This was
before wifi, so I'd have to sync what I wanted to work on.

Trying to cram the Windows UI onto a handheld seemed wrong.

I loved my Zaurus, seem to remember running Openzaurus on it??

Brilliant thing, should have kept it, sadly long gone :(
