Jeez, did you really have to wait until the 22nd? And it had already been a week on the 7th? That certainly would've been testing MY patience!

Do you have any radio stuff so far? I'm not sure what "level" of gear you are going for, but for a really cool and cheap HT check out the Quansheng UVK5 or UVK6. They are identical aside from some differences in the outer case. You can flash them with custom firmware that gives you the features of a $150plus radio, and they can be had for $20-$25.

Welcome to the hobby! Oh yeah, now go sign up for a DMR ID and D-Star ID for when you want to play with digital. It takes some waiting, too, so may as well apply before you actually need it.
