How about a different ad each day for the same bbs. That might be one way to have your cake and eat it too.
One day might be a text ad, one day might be an ansi ad, one might bea
colored text ad. etc.
I need to update 2oFB to do this; I have plenty of ANSi/ASCII assets these days... yet I'm still using the same old ANSi advert I setup 3 years ago.
