That sounds like a pretty good 286 setup. My first PC was a 12mhz 286, and I think it had 2MB of RAM.

I have my own IRC server , just use Private channel with Familly, Many hang there on public irc , but no Activity

There is no more bridge in MRC. You can just join it from any of the many BBSes (probably the one you're on?).

I think people already recommended Libera. It just depends on the channels whether you'll find any activity or not.

If you just want to see random activity, try like #Linux or one of the distribution channels for Debian,Ubuntu, or RedHat. There are ALWAYS people (careful, thousands) asking or answering questions there.

For more niche stuff, you might just have to hang out in the channel for a few hours/days. I idle in #Amiga and #C64, as an example.

Probably answered already but MTCP comes with IRC client that works fine and is UTF compliant

oh there is some. I turned back to IRC few months ago as a trial and I find a lot of fun on MBRserver, EFNET (#metal,#pcgames,#2600) and IRCNET (#revision, and bunch of local Polish)

All I needed is to set up a session and keep it persistent and keep coming back.

I also use localhost irc server at tilde.town but you need to have an account to join that community.
