• Upgrade to Win11?

From Shurato@21:2/148 to All on Thu Mar 20 21:30:00 2025
I've got way too many programs and steam games to do a fresh install. I
tried to upgrade to Windows 11 and it went painlessly, until installing
windows update, after which my system went into a reboot loop... I'd love to upgrade again (I had a backup from that morning, so I didn't lose anything), but I don't want an unusable system again... Any advice?

You just have to take it slowly and plan it out. Write down a list of
all your programs that you need to run things correctly first.

    1) Image the system.
    2) Fresh Install
    3) Utilities / customize desktop the way you want
    4) Rest of your big apps
    5) Games.

It's a big job but you'll be done in a day. Steam backs up your saves (if
you have that enabled) so you won't lose progress. Besides you probably
have not played 80% of those games in a year. (I'm basing this on myself)

I no longer have ANY of my registrstion keys. That's what backing up is for.
I need all of my 149 steam games installed and am not gping to downlosd them agsin plus my saves are all local.

I found my 23H2 iso and installed that instead. Everything is working great now.
