Version 1.1 Beta, October 2026. Everything that has changed since 1.00.
Install over your existing board: your configuration, users, conferences
and messages are left as they are. The Sysop Manual and the LunaMail
    Guide
describe every item below in full.

    AT A GLANCE
RIPscrip graphics from logon to logoff, on RIP terminals and in the
    web terminal.
A much bigger web interface: terminal, doors, chat, who is on, QWK
mail, settings, mailing lists, a sysop page and statistics.
Internet e-mail from the board, through a smarthost if you have one.
    IPv6 for every service.
Areafix and Filefix, and echomail that goes out the moment it is saved.
Callers delete their own messages, several at once.
Scheduled events, nightly backups and a user editor in the control
    panel.
Protection against flooding, password-guessing robots and addresses
    on public blocklists.

    CALLERS AND SECURITY
    Addresses that connect in rapid succession are blocked for a while;
three connections in 15 seconds means 30 minutes out (all settable).
A limit on the length of a call (45 minutes unless you change it).
Addresses on DNS blocklists such as zen.spamhaus.org can be refused.
A caller who gives ADMIN as first name - what password-guessing
programs try first - is disconnected and blocked for good.
Blocked addresses are kept in WIN32\TELNET.BLK. Take a line out to
    let an address in again.
A new caller has the board's full keyboard timeout (at least three
minutes) to press the first key, instead of one minute.
Callers on telnet, SSH and rlogin may use 1 to 16 nodes, set from the
control panel while the board is running.

    RIPSCRIP GRAPHICS
A RIP terminal is recognised at the start of the call, and Enter at
"Do you want graphics" takes RIP.
A RIP sign-in box for name and password.
Default RIP screens in the lunar style: welcome, news, main menu,
sysop menu, node chat and logoff. Your own RIP screens are kept.
The lightbar message reader, conference list and file browser, the
full-screen message editor and node chat all appear in RIP frames
    with buttons.
Page Up and Page Down work from RIP and ANSI-BBS terminals.

    WEB INTERFACE
Terminal: call the board from the browser, with ANSI colour and full
RIPscrip 1.54 graphics. Leaving the page hangs up.
Doors: a list of the doors a caller may open; one click calls the
board and goes straight into the door.
Chat: rooms for logged-in users. The main room is joined to the
    board's node chat, channel 1.
Who is on, QWK mail (fetch a packet, send replies) and Settings (what
the W command changes, and the conferences to scan).
Mailing lists: every list with a Subscribe or Unsubscribe link.
A caller's own address is changed at once; any other address gets
a confirmation link by e-mail first.
Messages: tick boxes and "Delete selected" on the message list, and
a Delete button on each message.
A Sysop page: nodes with Disconnect and Block, services, refused
addresses, events and backups with Run now, and the latest log lines.
A Stats page: calls by day and by hour, top uploaders and
    downloaders, messages per conference.

    INTERNET MAIL AND SERVICES
Callers send e-mail by typing an Internet address at the "To" prompt
in any conference. The message is kept private in the Main Board and
sent by SMTP, through your smarthost when one is set. The same works
from the web and from QWK replies.
The mail conference is always conference 0.
Control panel, Services, Send a test e-mail checks the smarthost
    settings at once.
Mail the board sends carries X-Mailer: LunaBBS for Windows v1.1 Beta.
IPv6 for telnet, SSH, rlogin, the web interface, SMTP, POP3, IMAP,
NNTP, FTP (with EPSV and EPRT) and the BinkP mailer.

    FIDONET AND QWK
Areafix and Filefix: your links link and unlink areas and file
echoes by netmail, with wildcards, %LIST, %QUERY, %UNLINKED and %HELP.
New echomail goes out at once: a message saved in an echo area -
on a node, on the web, by newsreader or QWK reply - is scanned and the
    links are called straight away.
Echomail links work in every conference, not only the first 40.
LunaMail configuration: a BinkP mailer page (no more editing
BINKP.CFG by hand), a Nodebook page for nodes and points of your own,
and a list of your addresses, one per network.
The BinkP mailer checks every address the other system presents,
learns the names of other networks, and accepts a system's password
    under any of its addresses.
The nodelist compiler unpacks packed nodelists (NODELIST.Z88 and the
like) and logs every step to WIN32\LUNANLC.LOG.
Poll an FTN node or call a QWK hub from the control panel's Services
    menu.

    MESSAGES
Callers delete messages written by them or to them; sysops any
    message.
    K takes lists and ranges: K 12 15 20-25, or K 12,15,20-25.
In the lightbar message list, Space marks messages and K deletes the
marked ones. K in the reader deletes the message being read.

    CONTROL PANEL AND SYSOP TOOLS
A user editor (Board, Users): security level, expiry, registrations,
lock out or delete, without PCBSM.
Events at set times: toss, scan, nodelist compile, QWK calls, FTN
polls or a program of your own, logged to WIN32\EVENTS.LOG.
Automatic backups: a zip of the board every night, the last seven
    kept, in the BACKUP folder.
    Statistics (View, Statistics).
Right-click a node to block the caller's address, with or without
    disconnecting them.
Log in at this computer takes a free node instead of always node 1.

    FIXES
Important: a node ended in the middle of a call could let the NEXT
caller on that node into the old session without a password. Fixed.
"All nodes are busy" with nobody on, when Float Node Number was on.
The web terminal said a name was already in use after the caller had
left the page, or after a node had been ended from outside.
Web terminal calls dropped when the browser's address changed.
Every telnet node ran as node 1.
Shelled doors did not start on 64-bit Windows.
A conference made for a new echomail area could not be joined by
name, and some nodes refused new conferences.
Choosing a conference, replying and downloading from the lightbar
screens did nothing for callers not in expert mode.
Commas typed at the command prompt were dropped.
Stopping the telnet server left its nodes running; the control panel
could stay in Task Manager after Exit.

    UPGRADING
Back up your board folder first, as always.
Update every program of the board together: LunaBBS-Beta-Setup for
the whole board, LunaMail-Setup for the mail programs only.
This is a beta. Every change was checked with scripted tests against
test boards; not all of them have been tried on a busy live system.
Thank you to Utopian Galt for the idea of the lightbar browser.
