Hi all. I'm wondering if there's an "authoritative" (or frequently updated) list of FTNs with links to public Infopacks and nodelists?
And there used to be a Google sheet that was updated frequently as well - not sure if that exists anymore.
If you have any constructive thoughts, let me know!
Here's the Google Sheets version.--- Fae Empress Done ---

Synchronet has a registry system that is updated (from what I can see
in git) about 2x per year. It's manually owned by Digital Man:
; If you find any information to be missing or incorrect, please let
; Digital Man (Rob Swindell@1:103/705) know.

Those are a great resources, and what I'm trying to do is find or
create a reliable "registry" type service that can be accessed
centrally (by users or user agents). Maybe on github.
(I'm the maintainer of ViSiON/3 and it's part of an "FTN Setup Wizard" feature).
I realize that some nets are not public, some wither on the vine, and would rely on updates from maintainers - or things like github repos
where updates/changes can be discovered (FSXnet at tqwNET have repos
for infopacks) OR ingested from TIC processing from the network itself.
We're all that remains of small-ish group of BBS enthusiasts, and was hoping to make it easier for folks to discover join and configure their networks based on interests, language, geography, etc.

While not technically "authoritative", I maintain a list of networks that clrghouz "sees" while interacting with nodes. There isnt a way to see if that node (and thus net) was seen yesterday or 5 years ago...

There is no "authoritative" list of FTNs. I think the Google document floating around is the closest to a "complete" list, but it has LOTS of inaccuracies in it. Suggest starting with that and fixing it up with
what you can find out, and eventually posting a link to it so the rest
of us can help "fine-tune" it into a better product.
That's great. You've got the bones of what I was thinking about creating. My thought was if you had a few extra columns - Active/Inactive, Last Updated, Infopack (link, website or BBS addy), Verified by, etc.).
Hard part is keeping it updated, and that Google sheet is def. the best reference out there. Maybe Net owners would have a way to update, similar to how updating works on Clearing Houz? Happy to chat more, thanks for sharing (and thank for Clearing Houz!).
