We have a new sysop in net 3634 running PCBoard btw.. He'll probably stop
in shortly.

If I could have added telnet to my system way back when, I would likely still be running it. It ran smoothly and reliably. I still have a complete backup of the system as it was then. Circa 2001 or so.

QFront as Front end mailer (Dialup and ITN)
Irex to handle FTP and BinkP
Com/IP for Telnet connections
WinFoss for NT for fossil driver.

Oh, I have it all backed up on CD. The biggest problem would be to set up all my downlinks and uplinks again, along with several other changes <G> It took me a long time to get Sync working after changing over, and it will likely take
some time to actually get the directory changes made, not to mention getting the telnet stuff to work. I'm using Taurus for my frontend for POTS calls and they are redirected to a telnet port. I dont know if I can make that work again in PCB <G> I may set it up again to run alongside Synchronet just to see.

Netfoss a while back, I am going to say a couple of Years ago, had some problems, but It seems to have evolved and is running very well. Even
wiping out some problems I had with other fossils that originally were
working better. It might just be worth a try.

well i think we are more, some people with OS/2 also, but i did not make
the list, soon i will.
About Rex and messages, we are still tunning, is possible some lost
messages during the tests, but now we have PCBoard 15.4 with fido, uucp
and email using internal PCB tools and irex.
So any help, let me know.

As you can see above, PCBoard's reply quoter treats quotes as text when
they are not separated from the text by at least one space. Maybe that
is adjustable in the software you use.

I don't think so. Not unless I try and modify the source code to
WINServer 7.0's message editor. PCBoard is, as far as I know, the only
BBS software that does this. But, as long as my messages get out,
that's all that matters *smiles*. I didn't write Winserver -- I just
run and beta test it. But, as I said, I will look at the source code to
the message base editor, but doubt there is anything I can do with that.

Not in WINServer's case. At least not on the system level. I believe
this can be done on a USER level, but ONLY if the web interface is used
(using the NNTP server of WINServer to reply to this message now).
