I used to have the source to an old XT BIOS, and at a time, seemed
like I had parts of a DOS source code. I suppose freedos should be available.... It'd be cool to develop a small DOS version with 100%
source code that boots up just ordinary 16-bit DOS off either a USB
thumb drive, or SD memory card, it'd be awesome. If you could then
provide minor internet access to said DOS via drivers loaded via
config.sys that would provide basic socket (telnet) and ftp access,
you'd have the perfect operating system for a bulletin board! Provide emulation of some sort to allow you to basically do what vmodem did
where you "dial out" to telnet to a BBS, and you just re-invented
    BBS'ing in the 2014's!

Funny thing, my internet is cut off till around wednesday. I can telnet
out and use rexw to get my mail.... I can't use the web on the desktop,
and don't think I can get my e-mail on my laptop either, but because the
ISP's apparently don't recognize many of the ports used by BBS's, I can download files and mail packets to my BBS after my internet gets cut
off... I can then go on my phone (as I just did) and download the .zip
file, use an app called altamail to e-mail that zip file to my e-mail
account for me to pickup when the internet gets turned back on... So
It's not that bad after all... If I had an android, I could just
download to my phone then copy from the phone to the laptop, but sadly
until next august, I'm stuck with an iphone.... Wished I never listened
to my friends and believed it was a good phone!
