    Hello Carol,

MvdV>> They were only available in theory anyway. Every time
MvdV>> he tried to do someting that amounted to some real
MvdV>> international coordination he was blocked in some way.
MvdV>> When he tried to show some leadership in the latest

MvdV>> to do something about t

By mostly his own actions in requiring al Z2 RCs join the
    echo or be fired.

See? "actions: is the operative word.

Please not that Ward has tried to stay out if this thing. He stayed in the side line for almost a year. But then some (mostly from Z1) kept pestering him that he should take some "action" to get things going.

So what if he put some pressure on the Z2 RC's? First, he didn't dothat as IC, he did that as ZC2, which makes it none of anybodies bussienss outside Z2. Second we keep hearing that RC's have a responsibility and that those who do not respond to a proposal for a policy change, are not doing there job and should be replaced. But thane if a ZC finally puts some muscle behind those words, he is crucified for it. Djeez...

When he prevented the RC's from discussing the referendum,
he blew the gambit and the rest left.

No, Carol. He did not prevent the ZRC's from discussing it. How could he? No Carol what killed it was one obnoxious RC wh had an axe to grind with Ward and who kept flooding the area with "discussions" and THAT drove away so many that no quorum could be reached.

MvdV>> problem of dead zones he was blocked. The ruling in
    MvdV>> the the only compl

He tried to insinuate that 2 of the zones were dead when
they are not. Small yes, but dead no.

Too small to function as a zone. Take your blinders off Carol. Thsioe zones are not functioning as a zone any more. Especially Z6. A ZC that can only communicate via ICQ and e-mail. It is nice that we have these marvels of technology, but it is not FidoNet.

When a net becomes too small to find an NC, it gets desolved and/or merged with a neighbour net. Logic says one must do the same when a region or zone becomes too small to be viable.

MvdV>> Miles will run into the same problem. He has already
MvdV>> made his first "faux pas". He expressed symthaty
MvdV>> for the idea of a compulsory common protocol for IP.
MvdV>> Sooner or later someone wil remember that and use it
MvdV>> against him. Most likely someone from zone 1. Mark my words.

Sure it will come up and he'll probably be just like the
last 4 IC's on that. 'cool idea now show me one that works
    for all'.

And so we will never have a common protocol for IP. Just like we will never get rid of zones that are too small to function as a zone. But when Malcolm falls out of grace, someone will "remember" his attempts to force a common IP protocol on his. Whether that is what actually happened or not, someone will "remember" it. And it will be used against him.

Just like Ward's "actions" are now used against him by the crowd that wanted to tople him all along.

But you are right in one thing. The IC is just a name for
one of the ZCC. Spokesperson for them.

He'd better be careful not to say something that upsets Janis..

    Cheers, Michiel
