    Technically not dupes but outright theft instead.

    wrong, maurice... they are dupes... some of them going back two years... their dates were fixed by the pktdate y2k date fixing tool used by some distribution hubs to repair y2k fouled dates in FTN PKTs...

    I've seen it happen before except the last time MSGID's were
    corrupted instead of Origin lines. The redating is the same
    except all the kludges were left intact this time.

    Beats me what anyone sees attractive in Swindleware. Personally I
    see nothing but bugs and outright highway robbery. ;-)

    sbbs wasn't the cause of this but it may have been involved... i don't know what software eye of the hurrican is running but the problem was ultimately human error and lax configuration... this allowed a system connecting to another network carried by EotH to turn on /all/ message areas that EotH has available... even message areas not belonging to that one particular network being connected to... as a result, those messages were spewed out to the valid links in other networks...
