Hi R3LO,
Greetings from Hangzhou, China! This is BG5DVA (Wu Bingjian) writing to say a BIG THANK YOU for our QSO on May 1st via QO100!
You might not know this, but that was my VERY FIRST QO100 contact! (I was so nervous that my English almost turned into Martian language... ) To make it happen, I had to embark on a "crazy adventure" to Xinjiang3,000 km away from my homejust to chase that sweet 11.3 elevation angle. (Trust me, staring at -12 elevation here in Hangzhou felt like trying to talk to air! )
My setup is a Chinese X6100 radio + Europes Localino Upconverter-H, a helical feed for transmitting, and a Bullseye LNB feeding signals to my SDR. When I finally heard your reply after shouting CQ into the void... I nearly jumped out of my chair(trunk)!
By the way, Ive sent you my first-ever QO100 QSL card via registered mail to ensure safe delivery.
^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^
This holds great commemorative significance for me.
Im planning to set up a permanent QO100 station in Xinjiang soon. Fingers crossed well meet on the satellite highway again! And since our QSO happened on International Workers Day, I hope you had a fantastic holiday! Until then, 73 and happy orbiting!
Best regards
BG5DVA / Wu Bingjian
