President Trump is promising every American $5,000 if the Republicans retain control of both houses of Congress. That is illegal, and such a promise reportedly carries a two-year prison sentence. I wonder how the Supreme Court justices will get him out of this one. I suspect they will rule the plaintiffs' claims inadmissible. Dutch judges use that trick a bit too often, too.
