tracks. the economy in the usa will meltdown if they dont stop all the spendimg. but since this boston bombing, and hints of ties to al qaeda,
most likey we will be going to war with africa. since al-qaeda has been growing there. more money to spend.. disclaimer: this is just my
    viewpoint

Don't forget the erosion of our citizen rights. You're now only guaranteed Miranda Rights under condition now. Certain acts can postpone your rights for up to 30 days after arrest (effectively, you don't have Miranda Rights).

For those who aren't from here and don't know the Miranda Act, it's the one that guarantees our right to remain silent (they can't beat it out of us) and our right to an attorney (they can't hide us away w/o legal representation). Also they have to let us know that anything we say can be used against us.

Now, in this day and age everyone knows their Miranda Rights. It's all over the TV in crime dramas. I don't think authorities need to let us know every time we're arrested, and I don't think people should be let off because they weren't read their rights. But I do believe a citizen should be guaranteed those rights each and every time, if only because it's so EASY to grant those rights. The only reason to nullify Miranda is to beat something out of someone in the process of interrogation, and while in THIS case the guy deserves it,
it is setting a very bad precedent that can be abused down the road.

fidonet was not built on that principle... the sysop has full control
over what happens on his system and the only thing he is really responsible for is traffic that flows from his system back into the network... the sysop has full freedom to lock users out of whatever message areas he wants... allowing full access is also his perogative
but it is limited to what the moderator/owner of an echo allows...

The ozzmosis.com site is a web site - not a fidonet node. Fidonet moderator rules have no standing there.

Oh, you'll get used to the moronic nature of the beast soon enough. He's been a shit-stirrer for as long as I can remember. About the only time I see his Twitted posts is when someone replies to them.

    I'm seeing it...

Review my past posts to you. According to the *International*
    Echolist Robot, Roger is.

Unfortunately there is NO international echolist robot, just a Z1 one,

Indeed, there is no globally recognised echolist and there never was. I would not use the word "unfortunately" though. All the echolist projects that I witnessed were at one time or another abused to let one group exert Kohntrol over another. Just like what is attempted right here and now. Again... :-(

I say Fidonet is better off without echolists.

    Cheers, Michiel

OK... I am sure you're a firm believer in the nodelist. Right?
Tell me something, does the address 1:1/21 mean anything to you?
    Hope so because

can't find anything that resembles that in either Z2 or Z3.

Obviously any node number beginning 1: will not appear in the Z2
or Z3 segments just as the node numeber 3:640/305 doesn't appear
in the Z1 segment(or any other segment outside Z3)

What is this 1:1/21 number? It means nothing to me.

Neither to me (like a wrote to 1:1/21 in this echo)

But you don't understand, Mr. Felton is not the moderator....
Review my past posts to you. According to the *International*

Roger is NIKS. Just one of the FIDO SYSOPS, just like we are
He is NOT the moderator of this Echo!

Unfortunately there is NO international echolist robot, just a Z1
one, and it has no authority to define who is the moderator of any
    echo

The last election held in this echo returned Bj”rn Felten as
moderator with an overwhelming majority. So far he has not
    abdicated

The fact is, every poster is a moderator, of their own postings.
    No-one else can do that

Neither a Yankee _can_ that ;-)

    Their "rules" are not WorldWide.
