    I noticed that some old messages were not converted properly. They have this kludge:

    CHARSET: LATIN-1

    See fts-5003:

    For backwards compatibility, "CHARSET" may be treated as a synonym for "CHRS".

    Looks like you are reading some *very* old archives! :)

    Not so old... :-) BBBS still used CHARSET instead of CHRS until 2024.

    I've noticed that you do the charset translation when importing, not when viewing (I've had to rescan the echo where I detected this issue to test this change). I suppose that messages are stored in Unicode.

    Yes, it helps with full text search (which is already implemented).
