Hi everyone, I'm trying to configure FrontDoor 24.01 on DosBox-x with Windows 7 32-bit so I can exchange Fidonet mail with IEMSI with my main BBS node, which has the address mail.velenobbs.net and responds on port 24554.
The question is this: how do I tell FrontDoor to call my node 2:333/808 at that address and port for mail exchange?
Node 2:333/808 is working correctly and uses Synchronet BBS with BinkP.

I don't think you have an EMSI mailer at port 24554. :)

But if you would have an EMSI mailer in port 23, you could put the next line to fdnode.ctl:

phone 2:333/808 mail.velenobbs.net

FD doesn't do binkp. Yet! :)

I'm not sure if I completely understand but I'll try to respond.

FD needs a modem or a virtual modem.

In Windows, ant it'll do DOS boxes, I use NetSerial. It acts like a modem and it'll give me a telnet port to call... Lets say 2300. ... and it'll act like a modem.

I know someone who uses something like this... bbs.dsbbs.com.

You call his BBS and it'll ask you to press escape twice and in you go. Though he doesn't use FD he uses DOS based mailer (DB) and a DOS BBS RA>

I use NetSerial with a Windows Based BBS whereby I have 1 mode send mail back and forth like the old days.

Back to DOS... You need to vitalize a com port.

There is a program that works with FD to do BinkP and FD... Look at Internet Rex

I use that.
