From Marc Lewis@1:396/45 to Vincent Coen on Tue Mar 3 11:18:26 2026

    Hello Vincent!

I have received several notices on Echoes that are expiring. I sent the updates as required, but have received nothing back - - no ack, no nothing.
I had sent you NetMail regarding this and you have not responded.

Please tell me what steps I need to take next to keep these Echoes properly listed.

    Marc Lewis

Here is my binkd configuration for your 2:25/21 Node:
    node 2:25/21@fidonet applewoodbbs.linkpc.net:24555

Here is what I am seeing in the connection log (repeated over and over):
    ? 25 Feb 18:24:15 [15323] connection to 2:25/21@fidonet failed: Connection timed out.

Have I made some sort of error in your binkd address? I has worked in the past.

    Best regards,
    Marc

Wilfred, for some odd-ball reason my system continues to get a time-out when attempting to connect. I'll try rebooting that machine and see if it makes any difference... And thanks very much for your reply.

I wonder if either of you is running some sort of anti-virus product, or possibly some other software, that might have blocked the IPA of the other system.

A few years back, the IPA my BBS was running on at the time was getting
blocked by one of the Windows anti-virus products. My IPA got flagged
because I had "compressed files" available for public download via ftp.
That not only prevented me from reaching the system running the software,
it also prevented the system running it from reaching me.

    Mike
