• 100% artificial butter, backed by Gates.

From August Abolins@1:153/149.42 to All on Mon Sep 15 08:51:22 2025

A Bill Gates–funded company, Savor, has launched “butter” made from carbon dioxide and hydrogen— no animal products, no plants, just lab goo marketed as food.

The company, backed by Bill Gates’ Breakthrough Energy Ventures, was able to achieve this technological advancement by molecularly constructing fat out of carbon dioxide (CO₂), green hydrogen (GH₂), and methane (CH₄).

Commenting on Savor’s work, Bill Gates wrote on his blog, “The process doesn’t release any greenhouse gases, and it uses no farmland and less than a thousandth of the water that traditional agriculture does. And most important, it tastes really good—like the real thing, because chemically it is.”

They want us eating goo and bugs to reduce our footprints so they can have bigger ones. Getting rid of most farms is an important step.

While we are eating our goo covered grasshoppers, Gates will be dining on steaks.

Growing meat has already been achieved in the lab.

Maybe for Gates. He could be a vegetarian for all I know, but not all of
these rich folks who want us eating bugs, chemicals, and lab-grown stuff are. They want us to reduce our footprints to offset their own.

Anecdotal stuff aside, I'm inclined to agree. That said, I sometimes doubt whether the 1% really cares about offsetting their own or if they figure whatever god of capitalism that blessed them will just fix it all later...assuming they care about future generations at all, which goes against the philosophy.

What was it Quark said? "5000? 10,000? What's the difference?
The speed of technological [or in this case environmental] advancement isn't nearly as important as short-term quarterly gains."

I may be giving them too much credit when I assume they care enough to
offset their own, you are right about that.
