Just learned about an unusual music collaboration between James Woods (the actor) and Shooter Jennings (sysop of Bitrise BBS, now Wizard's Rainbow BBS).

    Album: Hear the Thunder Crack

    My initial standout picks are:
    Whispers From The Heart, and

You can try some alternative front ends for youtube.

    I'm using this one currently:

    https://cal1.iv.ggtyler.dev/

(His nyc1 server is currently being blocked by YouTube)

It's an "Invidious" frontend for YouTube. It works well from both mobile & desktop browsers.

    There's also:

    Piped: https://cal1.pi.ggtyler.dev/
    Poke: https://cal1.poke.ggtyler.dev/

But I haven't really played around with those two.

This Tyler dude hosts a bunch of frontends for various services like Reddit & Twitch:
    https://www.ggtyler.dev/other/frontends

You can also download and run Freetube from your PC:

On a desktop with Firefox and the uBlock Origin plugin, you don't see any ads on YT. ;-)

    Bye, Wilfred.

I had uBlock installed with FF on my DT at the shop. I forgot
to add it to FF on my laptop at home - I was totally annoyed
and wondered why I was getting those annoying commercial breaks
while listening to a 11 minute interview on Democracy Now.

    Thanks for the headsup.

It never occurred to me to try YT for album tracks.

I've found you can find almost any tune/albume on YT. It's my go-to when I'm looking for music. Like right now, I'm listing to a live stream of bosa nova music.

YT seems to want to aspire to be the single media server for
    practically everything.

Nothing wrong with that, as long as they do a good job at it.

$15/mo for "no ads"? ..no thanks!

Ads? I don't see no stinkin' ads. Use the uBlock Origin extension and kiss those puppies bye-bye.

Works with Chrome, Edge and probably others, too. It seems to be the last ad-blocker that still works with YT.

For me, YT is pretty good for a quick lookup and sample. But I
have to re-explore its performance with MyPal or Palemoon. As
far as I can tell, MyPal doesn't have a supported adblocker but
    PaleMoon does.

My goto for uninterrupted music and control is Spotify. It was
10.99CDN for many years. The monthly rate is going up to
12.99CDN for Premium on Dec 1.

YT does not present itself as an equivalent to something like
    Spotify. Sorry.

YT does allow saving vids in play lists, but if I am interested
in music, the video content (often static or poster-preference
images) is overkill and irrelevent to me as a "listener".

Even the YT vids of 45's being played seems silly. I know what
a spinning record looks like. I don't need 3-4 minutes of that!

Besides, vid content is a bigger data hog than simply the
audio. I wouldn't want to waste data/bandwidth for video that
    I don't need.

August, In MY head I thought one of the posts You wrote said something about Texas.
Me confused because this here phone doesn't store old messages as I done on my computer hence I have VERY MUCH difficulty searching thru old messages to refresh my memory about something I thought I remembered reading .

    Not all Texans are tall.
I have a In-law who was born and raised in Texas who ain't TALL.
