When I tried it I saw that same DROP message got through so
possibly it just took a while for that to get done. Either
people stopped posting there after that or it worked.. B)

I had to look at the docs again with MultiMail on the ADD and DROP
commands for the message areas, as it had been so long since I had
used them.

of messages..

They are automated here. In past I think maybe they didn't work because I
had something in my qwk configs wrong, but it should be working now. You
don't receive any type of receipt, though.

If you choose to ADD a new one do you still get a lot of old messages
the first time it is added? I remember doing that long ago and the
next night getting 50 messages from that area sent to me, some
fairly old..

Unfortunately, probably, unless the area is not active. If there are areas
you are interested in and want them added without the old messages, let me know.

In MultiMail, you use the Del command to drop an area, and Ins
to add an area. When you upload your REP packet, the BBS will then automatically add and/or drop the areas you've selected.

I'll have to give that some thought. I think it's actually an advantage
to see old messages to find out what's usually talked about and see
who is active in that area..

Are there still a lot of messages that come through every day or are
most areas pretty quiet?

I also see your greetings to new users or visitors to your BBS and
wonder how many keep coming back or are most a single visit to have
a fast look around?
