OK, so base don advice I have run chksetup.js and it is report that every user has a disallowed name (including me!)
Also, it has a password gripe for every single user as well, either length, no password set (how is that even possible), or a disallowed password.
I think both of these check may be picking up users that are not actually in the userfile anymore and may have been purged.
Also getting these errors and could use a hand in figuring out how to fix them:
Invoking: check_bbs_list
!!BBS NOT FOUND: hAx0rs palace
Invoking: check_syncdata
!SYNCDATA sub-board could not be found in message area configuration
Invoking: check_imsg_list
!hAx0rs palace is not listed in C:\sbbs\ctrl\sbbsimsg.lst
...
Invoking: check_sockopts_ini
!C:\sbbs\ctrl\sockopts.ini has SNDBUF set
!C:\sbbs\ctrl\sockopts.ini has RCVBUF set
Just remove those - it's better to not set them to explicit values
unless you have a very good reason to do so.

the update script will also screw up if the system is not in sbbs\
i updated one that was in c:\synchronet and it didn't work out well.
i also set the environment in the Os.

If you're referring update.js, it's been tested in many installs
that don't have "sbbs" anywhere in their path.
i updated one that was in c:\synchronet and it didn't work out well.
What happened?
i also set the environment in the Os.
Okay. But what happened?
i can make you a video of it not working if you want it.

Okay. But what happened?
Like i said, The update scripts wouldn't work correctly. I had to
change everything to sbbs\ and then change it back later.
