• TicFilePwd problem

From Richard Vonzel@VERT to All on Wed Feb 5 14:31:42 2025
So for some reason my TICKIT can't find the passwords for the nodes. I have them in my setting for my uplinks but I get the following error. Also it's saying the file file directory isn't there, which it is. Any ideas what's wrong?

    Thanks,
    Rick V

So for some reason my TICKIT can't find the passwords for the nodes.

This is a frequently asked question and the cause is usually that 5D addressing was used in either tickit.cfg or sbbsecho.ini and not in the other. Try adding or removing the domain part of the FTN address from one or the other configuration (i.e. 1:103/705@fidonet is not the same address as 1:103/705).

    I have
them in my setting for my uplinks but I get the following error.

    No error was provided.

    Also it's
saying the file file directory isn't there, which it is. Any ideas what's wrong?

Not offhand. The error message might be helpful.

    Thanks,

I'll give that a try. I don't have tickit.cfg file though, bit in the sbbsecho.ini the uplinks are in 5D format.

I know. I've edited the sig to remove them but it keeps adding them too. Strange.

Your tickit config is contained in ../ctrl/tickit.ini

Please note the warning in there that you must define *EITHER* a "Dir"
or a "Path" keyword for each connected file area, but *NOT* both. Very
    common config error...

Also double-verify that you have a TIC password defined in the uplink
    node's configuration block in sbbsecho.ini

I edited the sbbsecho.ini and removed the @fidonet, @fsxnet and that fixed that issue. Ran TICKIT and all passwords run fine.
