Sounds like it might be useful on my android box. I've been
using the YT app on it, but ofcourse
Android box hooked up to a TV? For one, NewPipe is a decent Youtube client that blocks ads and such. It doesn't let you log in, though, it keeps all your subs and history to itself. Better yet, though, there's also Kodi which has a Youtube add-on. I use various browser plugins to right-click YT links and select "Send to Kodi" so I can watch them on my TV.
Oh yeah, no ads there either.

I just did a search in the Play store and NewPipe wasn't there. Did you get this elsewhere?

i kind of wish they'd just bring back banner ads to websites. video ads
are so annoying. i know youtube needs to get paid by showing ads but i don't want to sit through long ads.

Most of those have a "Skip" after a few seconds when they
start.

What concerns me is that the marketing industry is bubbling up and its burst will destroy many services people is used to.
Meanwhile use adblockers like everybody else, and let the sheep fund your services by watching ads.

When I am on IMDB's website I now see a pop up ad asking if I would
like to pay a fee for better results.from their pages, NOPE! NOT ME.
I'm a CHEAP LID.
I remember the days when internet companies would actually *improve*
their products, instead of leaving it crappy and making the improvements
a "paid enhancement".
Freemium = totes profesh.
