I think its stupid to have like 2-3 copies of google chrome on your computer, Apps like Discord should use the standard
copy of Chrome from your browser.

i use it in the browser instead.. the installable discord watches when your mouse moves to track whether you're around, watches what programs you run, and who knows what else in a privileged not-just-a-browser sort of way. you can't disable any of that either

use chromium-ungoogled and "install" the discord login webpage as an "app"
    and just use that instead.

This is why I don't do these apps. Sure I am on discord, but I only
use the web interface. I would guess I spend 10 mins a day total on
    Discord, Reddit and Digg combined.

What does the app do that the web site doesn't? (I am curious)
