• pop3/smtp how?

From August Abolins@2:221/1.58 to All on Tue Dec 30 14:53:00 2025

What's the trick to set up smtp so that I can actually enter a
destination email address when I W)rite?

I've configured pop3 and smtp credentials. Pulling in emails
with pop3 works. But when I start to W)rite a message, the
system indicates that the account is just local.

Well.. When I an in the LIST view of all the groups,
and press W, I get this:

    Internal messageĿ

    To /sveiks/kolico.ca

    Subject

    ..it's the "Internet message".

There is no place or option to begin writing to "To:"

    ┌─ Internal message─────────────────────────────────┐

According to the documentation of the english keymap:

W Write a message in the message area
    under the cursor.

If the message area is "internal" the dialog box says "Internal message" (like you posted). If the message area is public it says "Public message".

The check whether the message area is internal or public just hit the key
"S" (Special) in the list view of all the groups an look for the group
number in front of the name of the message area.

Then go to Menu "Edit"=>"Groups" an see what group numbers are definied on your system.

*TLDR*: You can't write a private message with the key "W" if you are in
the list view of all the groups. Use Menu "Message"=>"Direct" instead.

    Ciao
