But a better solution would be to make Windows illegal. Aren't these Windows users who are dealing with that stuff?
I started using Linux in 2010 and I haven't seen any randomware ever since.
Should ransomware payments be illegal?
It's not a bad idea, but it doesn't seem enforceable. Payment arrangements to dirtbags can be made in various ways.

Linux isn't immune, but it *IS* much harder do to and would only impact the current user and not the entire system.

I've seen some lame ransomware attempts on my android phone too. It
said "Your phone is infected! Click here to get it fixed!" (or
something like that.)
But it was poorly made, because I think all I had to do was close the browser tab and I was good to go.
I assume that there is some kind of a hierarchy of ransomware, and that maybe the stuff made for businesses is more well-written.

It was probably an "intelligence test" type of "ransomware". i.e. only complete morons (like most lefties) would fall for it.
I've seen it before and it's surpsingly effective. I guess P.T. Barnum was right: There is a sucker born every minute.

I'd like to see a map of the morons who fall for stuff like that. It
would probably closely resemble the 2024 Trump-Harris map :)
