    Hi All,

Last night, an unexpected coronal mass ejection (CME) occurred on the sun, which is now approaching Earth at high speed. A G4 solar storm with a maximum of Kp 8 is expected tomorrow morning (Tuesday) between 7 and 10 a.m. (6-9 UTC).

Tonight (Monday night) marks a new moon, and the forecast is for clear skies. Since it gets light relatively late in the Netherlands, there's a chance of northern lights visible to the naked eye. There may also be a chance of northern lights tomorrow night (Tuesday/Wednesday).

Your chances may vary in other parts of the world.

Summary (5 stars is the best):

    Potential: * * * *
    Weather: * * * * *
    Moon: * * * * *

    Bye, Wilfred.

Looking forward to hear the Netherlands report!

I haven't seen a dazzyling northern lights event in years. Mostly it has been some faint "all green" version from my central Ontario location.

There were sightings. But it stopped around midnight. I didn't even have a look, because I thought it would mostly be visible in the morning. It would be very hard to see anyway, because of the light polution in the middle of the town where I live...

You are even more south then me, so it would be more rare to be able to see it in your location. But you probably don't have light polution like me...

    Bye, Wilfred.
