  • gopher file libraries

    I'm wondering if anyone knows how to make the File Libraries available to gopher browsers?
    They're normally automatically available to Gopher users. Nothing special/additional is normally necessary.
    I've been trying to adjust security settings on the main file menue to allow for guest access (level 4) but I can't seem to
    get
    gopher clients to get anything but errors:

    Check if your guest user has access to the file libraries and directories when using other servers/services/protocols (e.g. FTP,
    Telnet).

    I have FTP service off right now.

    I have my Guest user with exemption 'D' in the list, and the security of the main library at 'LEVEL 4'

    I think that should give the Guest user access to view the File Libraries.

    Do you think there is more config settings needed?

    I did check the Guest user access via Telnet, lunarout.synchro.net 8023, and although the user can enter the menue area for the file libraries, Main, Internet Related; where I've put 1 file, Guest can't see the file. Sysop can see the file, but Guest user can't.

    So this must be the reason gopher reports nothing in those the file libraries area. Odd gopher doesn't see sub folders either.

    Yeah, perhaps post what your *Requirements are set to in SCFG for your file areas.
